Your tasks

  • Take full ownership of our Linux systems: design, installation, configuration, operation, and optimization, ensuring stability, performance, and security
  • Operate, maintain, and improve on-premise and/or cloud infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, backups, and disaster recovery
  • Drive automation of infrastructure and operational processes
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and environment provisioning
  • Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident management
  • Lead root cause analysis and long-term problem resolution
  • Define and enforce security standards, access management, patching, and compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Document IT infrastructure, systems, architecture, processes, and security measures
  • Provide backup support for Windows administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance as secondary contact
  • Prepare, maintain, and document IT hardware, including laptops, PCs, and servers

Your profile

  • Several years of professional experience in Linux system administration (e.g., Ubuntu, Debian) with solid knowledge networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, SFTP, SSH)
  • Experience with shell scripting (Bash or similar) and familiarity with system monitoring, logging, and backup/recovery strategies
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Veeam, HA clusters) and security best practices for Linux systems
  • Fluency in German or English, and good proficiency in the other language
  • Preferably basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps workflows
  • Strong problem-solving skills, independent work ethic, and ownership of production systems
  • Clear, structured communication and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Reliability, responsibility, and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
